Laptops for Foster Kids Family

By ShowLove

Here is a definite way how God works!

A friend of The Well said, “We have seven older laptops for you. Do you think you could use them?”  I said we surely can find someone who needs a laptop.  It is almost as essential as a phone today.

We cleaned them up, updated them with the right software. It was a great opportunity for my 16 yr old son to use his computer skills.

The next day, a foster mom texted us and said, “Hey Bill, I don’t know anyone in the computer world, but I was praying about laptops for our kids, and God put you in my heart to check with you to see if you knew anyone.” She went on to say that she needed 6 laptops.

Strangely enough, we know the same One!

The One True Living God, King Jesus, who answers prayer before we even ask (see Isaiah 65:24), who looks after the fatherless (see Psalm 68:5-6), who blesses the those who help the hurting (see Proverbs 19:17), and The One who gives us wisdom to make decisions (see James 1:5-8)

We had seven laptops, but two were damaged beyond repair, so we were able to provide 5 of the 6 they needed. Please pray we are able to provide them the 6th laptop as well as laptops for other single parent and foster families in our area.  We have requests for 3 additional, a total of 4 laptops we could get into the hands of families immediately.

One more note… these were foster kids, they have all been adopted by this family! They belong to this family now. Just like God adopts us into His family when we become a follower of Jesus. (See Romans 8:15)

We value showing the love of Jesus as much as we value sharing about the love of Jesus to our world!

Blessings

Here are the Scriptures I referenced!

“A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families,…”  Psalm 68:5-6

“Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.”  Isaiah 65:24

“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.”  Proverbs 19:17

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.”  James 1:5-8

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”  Romans 8:15

Miracles and Missions

2018 End of Year Report

So Jesus said to them, “assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:20

Miracles & Missions! End of Year Report 2018

Dear Loveland and all of our northern Colorado friends!

We are really excited about all that God has allowed us to do and the lives that have been changed in 2018!

Jesus said to His followers “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” John 20:21 and we believe we are to Live Sent like Christ was sent. Everywhere Jesus went we see Him doing three things:

  • Giving justice to the oppressed,

  • Proclaiming the Gospel (good news) of the Kingdom of God,

  • And having fun with friends. Yes, Jesus had fun.

The Creator of Joy brought joy to the earth and everyone He encountered who knew they needed the Grace of God. So if you are looking for a church that has these core values, then please check us out. We are launching in 2019 and need like-minded Christ followers to help us launch strongly.

It was a huge investment and bigger honor.

FRIENDS & FUN

Proverbs 15:13 A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.

  • Halloween / Fall Festival at our house. Wow! We had over 150 friends come by the house!

PLANS FOR 2019!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6

We are looking to hit 2019 strong!

  • Actively looking for a place to meet in the 25-34 corridor. As much as I love having a party and helping hurting people, I love teaching God’s Word even more and helping people find their connection with God to help them in every area of their lives!

  • Team Building:  We are building teams for church startup.

  • Start additional small group Bible studies in the community.

  • Easter Egg Hunt!

  • Other Fun events!

  • We are going to partner with other local non-profits who serve the community’s low income needs better than we do. They have the in house counselors and case workers to be able to help these families in ways we are not equipped. We are excited about this new partnership because we believe we will be able to help more people with the specific kind of help they need.

  • We are going to be looking for and planning volunteer opportunities for us to be able to serve our community together. We believe in adding value to our communities.

Five Ways to PARTNER with Us!

“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy  because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now,” Philippians 1:3-5

Help Single Moms (and Dads)

By ShowLove

Pastor Bill Stevens shares about the Gift Card & Car drive.

One aspect of our ministry is to help those who are the most vulnerable in society, like single moms. Your gifts of Gift Cards and donations of Cars (Vehicles) will go directly to help single moms in need in our community.  Gift cards for groceries, oil changes, fuel, hair cuts, meals, dental cleanings, Christmas presents for their kids, and clothing.

What kind of people are we helping?

November 2018

From Pastor Bill:

Two of the teachers at the high school where I taught last semester contacted me about a staff member who I know, but I didn’t know what she was going through. This dear single mom is in a life and death battle. She has 4 kids at the house and now she is facing breast cancer for the 2nd time – this time she has a rare form that is highly aggressive. She has hit stage 4 which is life threatening.

She is finding her help and strength in Christ, but this is still a frightening battle. To say the least it has unsettled her, her kids, friends, family, and co-workers.

She is going to be out of work for months. They need groceries, fuel, clothes, haircuts, basic necessities, Christmas gifts, Oil changes, etc.

She is in the middle of 7 weeks of radiation and will receive chemo until May. This is probably going to be the most difficult Thanksgiving and Christmas this family has ever faced. She has to drive herself daily 30 miles for treatments. This is a lady who took care of the high school kids in the health office for us when they were sick. Now, she is needing others to help care for her.

Sometimes there are things in life we cannot handle on our own. Even Christ needed help when He was carrying His cross. He collapsed under the weight of it and a man was conscripted to help Him carry His cross. Yes, there are things in life we absolutely cannot handle alone. This lady and the other single moms we have been contacted about need our assistance as a community this Holiday season.

The Gift Cards and Cars will go directly to help these single moms and others in desperate need this year. We just get to be the delivery people!

Family case workers in Loveland have asked us to help four families who need vehicles.

  • Family A – A Single mom of 5 working as a hotel housekeeper in need of a car.
  • Family B – A single mom of a young boy, who works as a surgical technician needs a vehicle.
  • Family C – A single grand-mom raising her grandson in need of a vehicle.
  • Family D – a single dad who has a rare medical issue and has two very little ones at the house. They need a car.

These are but a few of the kinds of needs we get to help.

Other Ways You Can Support The Well

A family needed a washer & dryer, but really is world missions at our doorstep!

By ShowLove

A local family needed a Washer & Dryer, but look what may happen in world missions!

We were able to provide a washing machine and dryer to this couple and their five beautiful children. This is a hard working , sweet Jesus loving family. We were so glad to find out about their need and help them. They moved from the Congo in Africa here 6 months ago after winning a lottery ticket to legally immigrate here. Their trip from the Congo ended at Greeley, CO.

He served as a youth minister and evangelist in the Congo. Then his family won a lottery drawing to be able to legally immigrate to the USA. His first stop was Greeley, CO.

He speaks multiple languages and is learning English, but he is bringing the Gospel to the Africans who have moved here through immigration.

Greely, 12 miles from us, has over 75 different languages spoken in the school district.

There are more Somalis living in Greeley than there are Christians in Somalia.

One of our sister churches is planting a church in Greely, and with mostly African members.

We are praying many of these will follow Christ, get discipled, and go back for trips to Africa for mission work. An indigenous person to any international country is so much more capable at connecting with their own people than a typical American. They already know the language and the culture, and can blend in instead of standing out.

The Kingdom is expanding because of your help! Look what God is doing here!

I actually got to hear them sing at a local church the other evening and they let me hold baby Moses while they sang. He didn’t cry either! Although I am not sure what he was thinking! lol!

We are excited about reaching the nations through The Well! It is The Well Ministries International for a reason! We want to see the Gospel spread through the ends of the earth!

Your gifts help us expand this Christ-centered ministry!

Single Mom Helped

By ShowLove

I wish you could have heard her voice when I called and told her what God had provided through our ministry partners like you! This dear hard working single mom of 5 kids (all at the house) hit some very hard times and was about to be evicted from her house and lose their car completely. On top of all of those troubles her phones were off, internet had been cut off, her computer was crashing which she made her livelihood from and she needed grocery money. When we put the request out two weeks ago, within one week we were able to take care of all of these needs!  When I told her what we were going to be able to do, she began crying and saying “Jesus knows exactly what I needed!”

We were able to help her with more than $6000 for specific needs of hers. She is now stable and moving forward in her work.

Dear friends, thank you for your prayers and support to help us minister to needs like this. I did a Facebook Live video (which I hate doing! yuck!) but it received over 2,000 views and most were local here in Loveland. Through ministry opportunities like this, God keeps giving us unusual favor in the community as we serve Him by serving the least of these.

She was almost aborted by her mom, raped by her dad and his friends as a child until she was 8, married later and that turned into a bad situation, had a child ran over by a car while riding his bike, and now she and her five kids face eviction from their house and the loss of their car. God keeps sending us single moms in the Loveland area who have been through the greatest suffering. This week is one of those weeks.

She gave us permission to share her story. We want to protect her identity, so her picture is not available.

Her Story

Her mom tried to abort her as a baby, but aborted her unknown twin sister instead. She was sex-trafficked by her father until age 8 and he abandoned her. She said, “He sold me to his friends for sexual favors in exchange for money so he could go drink. I have memories of sitting on his lap while he held me down while they raped me.” And “I spent my whole life growing up thinking he never wanted me and I was worthless.”

Now, this single mom (five kids at the house) was married to a closet alcoholic, who was involved in pornography, a financial wreck, and abusive. She went to a spiritually abusive church which said she could not divorce her abusive husband. Not only was she abused horribly by her biological father as a child, now she was being abused by her husband.

She said to me…  “So fast forward 17 years after that. In the middle of that time period, my son was killed in a car accident. In 2001, I was 8 months pregnant with my second daughter and he was hit while riding his bike. … There’s a lot of other stuff in my past but perseverance is a trait that God has developed in me my entire life.”

She is a very hard working single mom working from home developing a business to provide websites for businesses.

Her Needs

She said, “I have been able to stay on track and pay my living expenses for the past 3 years but just barely. I have learned to continue pressing onward against everything that appears to be coming against me.”

She continued by saying, “We are living on very small amounts of food, whatever I can get from the food bank. My internet has been shut off, my phone will be shut off next week, my computer which I have to use for working is ready to die and randomly shuts off. NONE OF THAT MATTERS!  GOD ALONE IS MY SOURCE. That is one of the deepest lessons I have had to learn through all of this and it has been hard fought and hard-earned. But I don’t question it at all anymore. Right now I need $1,600 for my rent today or my landlord will file the first notice giving me 3 days to cure it or be evicted. I absolutely without a doubt trust that God will provide and work in my situation.”

This made our day!

By ShowLove

What a joy!!! This really made us happy!

Imagine being abandoned with your three little kids (12, 6, 4) after you got lupus, then having back surgery, and your husband leaving you for another woman. And leaving no financial support, nor a bed to sleep on for you and your 12 year old child.

No, that was not the part that made us happy. That was the part that grieved us terribly and still does.

The part that made us happy was that God brought us in contact with this woman and her kids, and we were able to help them. We were able to get her beds from Sam’s and new bedding from Target!

She had been punished by her family as well in the name of religion. Yes, because she and her husband had made some lifestyle choices that her parents didn’t agree with – then the family refused to acknowledge them, their kids birthdays or Christmas.  All of this punishment because of their “Christian” religious beliefs. But once they got “in-line” the family started sending birthday presents and Christmas presents.  Not only did they punish this couple, but they punished the kids too.

I told her Jesus never punished anyone.  He was about loving people, forgiving them, and helping them out of bad situations. He stood against people throwing stones at someone who had made some very bad decisions.

But we shared the message of Christ and His love for her and her kids, and as we prayed she was weeping because of Christ’s love for her. We told the kids that the beds and bedding were from Jesus and that He loves them. We just got to be the delivery boy for Him that day. That is what made us happy!

Everyone who has contributed to this ministry gets part of this joy! We are getting to help many people like this because of your generosity.

The Well is a faith-based ministry that believes the message of Christ is the answer to the world’s problems today. Each month is a walk of faith for this ministry. We do not have a guaranteed number of supporters who provide all of the expenses each month. Jesus quoted this passage of Scripture… “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, … to comfort all who mourn; … to give them a beauty for ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; … the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.” Isaiah 61:1-3

Homeless Sales Clerk Night Before Christmas

By ShowLove

Our Night Before Christmas

On the night before our snowy Christmas, in a crowded store, our checkout clerk broke down in uncontrollable sobs. I had just told her how The Well helps hurting, abused, and even homeless single moms. She told me that she had lost her apartment a few days before and was staying at a cheap roach motel. She looked like anyone’s mom. All the local social services were closed for The holiday and she was out of money. She was about to be on the street on Christmas Day.

Why didn’t she go to a church for help? She did. A pastor gave his word to help and later changed his mind. (I spoke to him personally and found that this is exactly what happened.)

But we got the blessing!! The Well helped her stay in the hotel over Christmas until she could move to be with family out of state, which she did.

Breaking your word is bad enough, but going back on a promise to help a desperate person could drive them to hopeless despair. Aren’t you glad Christ doesn’t break his word? Colorado is #6 in suicide nationally, and the Loveland area leads the state. Vulnerable people are driven to homelessness and hopelessness constantly as the cost of living rises. Imagine your rent increasing by $200 at a time when you are a fixed income or a minimum wage, single income household.

The Well is a faith-based ministry that believes the message of Christ is the answer to the world’s problems today. We believe everyone needs to see the Love of Christ and to hear the message of the Love of Christ.

The Well is funded by people who believe the same thing and want to spread the message of the love of Christ!

We need your help to continue this ministry each month. Each month is a walk of faith to do ministry and meet the monthly obligations of this ministry. First, we need your prayers for greater expansion of this work. Second, we ask you to pray and ask the Father how you might help financially support this ministry. Please let us know how we can pray for you!

Bed’s for a young homeless couple and their baby!

By ShowLove

Bed’s for a young homeless couple and their baby!

This young couple is just trying to survive, when most young people their age are having the best times of their lives. Imagine having an alcoholic abusive dad, and then your mom having to run away from the abuse. That is what happened to this young lady. She escaped the situation by staying with some friends. Then this 18 and 19 year old found themselves with a beautiful baby boy and homeless.

We were so thankful that we got to help them with beds, especially a baby bed for their beautiful baby boy!!! We shared with them how Christ loves them and how His life can make an eternal difference in their lives. Dad and mom are great people! This young baby boy has good parents!

We are so thankful for our generous supporters who make changing lives like this possible! You put the smile on their faces!!!

We are so thankful we are able to Show the love of Christ to our city and SHARE the love of Christ as we go!

If you would like to help sponsor a family and support the work of this ministry, please see our Ways To Give page. We want you to experience the joy we have in doing this!!

Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
