Beds for a single mom with a heart pump

I am thankful for friends with big hearts who helped this dear lady get a bed! We were just the conduits of blessing! We were able to get this wonderful hard working nursing student and single mom a bed.

She had severe heart problems when she had her last child 7 years ago which eventually led to congestive heart failure. This led to a heart pump attached to her heart and an apparatus attached to her that controls the left side of her heart. She is now on a heart transplant list.

She had to go into the hospital for a long stay, which meant she couldn’t pay rent so she had her things placed in storage. Because of her extended stay, she was unable to take care of her things in storage and lost everything. When she got out she stayed with some family, got a very small government house, and her friends got her some couches from Goodwill. For the past 3 months she has been sleeping on the couch and her kids on the floor. Our ministry, The Well, was able to buy her a new full-size bed from Sam’s Club with some good bedding from Target!!!

From Theressa:

Pastor Bill and his wife Stephanie helped my family by providing mattresses, bedding and bed frames for my family. We were sleeping on the couch and it was really getting to my back. It gave me so much joy and hope to meet a family that truly cares about you. The first day I messaged Pastor Stevens, I just knew he was a man Of God. I had lost my Faith for a minute battling with Congestive Heart Failure but after meeting this beautiful family and all them praying for me and my family, my Faith has been restored. I thank God daily for their blessings… Such a God fearing Family and I’m so blessed to have meet them. Thressa

PS. Thank you so much again for everything. Feel free to inspire anyone about my testimony. Never know who it may bring life back into.. Good Day.

Our hope and prayer is that she will be able to get rest, so that her body will be rested well enough to receive a heart transplant for her at the right time. And that she will thrive afterwards! Pray with us for her success! Why Are We Doing This?

1.  The Love of God says that someone had to do something! As we were turning down the street to her house a song came on by Matthew West, “Do Something!”  The song is all about helping the poor, and when we see a need, God is giving us the opportunity and the responsibility to meet that need!

2. It would have been a sin if we had not done something! James 4:17 “Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.”

3.  Jesus said to let our good deeds shine out, point others to Him through them, and let Him get the glory!
Jesus said, “No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for alltosee, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:15-16 NLT

4. Jesus is going to judge us on how we treated the poor and hurting.  Matthew 25:31-46

5. It reveals that we are real followers of the Living Lord Jesus! Matthew 25:31-46

6.  We are to use our money to do good.
“Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. 18 Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. 19 By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life” 1 Timothy 6:17-19

7. Legit followers of Christ help others in their time of need.
